Bournemouth is one of the most popular destinations in the UK for bowlers, if not the most popular. The town attracts dozens of touring teams each year, many of them staying at the Ullswater Hotel.

The Bournemouth area boasts some of the finest outdoor greens in the country and has over 25 bowling greens within a 10 mile radius of the town. There are also many more within a 20 mile radius to give some variety to your visit.

We can arrange all your fixtures locally and tailor make your tour to meet your specific requrements with such items as pre dinner cocktail on arrival, Gala Dinner on prize giving night.

Entertainment can be arranged either every evening or to suit your needs, with excellent, class musicans who have entertained and been popular  at the Ullswater for a long time; catering for all ages!

Popular tours include trips to clubs in Lymington or New Milton giving the bowlers a chance to spend some time in the New Forest.

Other fixtures may include clubs such as Sixpenny Handley and Downton near Salisbury with a morning visit to the Cathedral, or Weymouth, Portland or Dorchester allowing bowlers to view the
beautiful Purbecks.

In the winter months, October to April, indoor tours are very popular and again, there is a wide variety of venues to choose from, whether you are on a long weekend or taking a midweek break. We are lucky to have the new Bournemouth Indoor Bowls Club almost on our doorstep, with both the Poole Dolphin I.B.C and East Dorset I.B.C at Christchurch only a short drive from the Hotel.


Some of our indoor teams like to venture a bit further to make a full day out and this year we have arranged matches as far afield as the Isle of Wight, Southampton, Winchester and Weymouth .
